The Research Institute of Urban History – a co-organizer of the Third International Symposium of Multidisciplinary Memory Studies (3rd SIMEM)
The Third International Symposium of Multidisciplinary Memory Studies “The politics of memory: lived and non lived memories” was held on 30-31 October 2014 in Mexico.
Co-organizers of the symposium: Institute of Social Sciences and Humanities “Alfonso Velez Pliyeho” (Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla) and the Research Institute of Urban History.
Organizing Committee: Dra. Victoria Pérez, Dr. Igor Lyman, Dra. María del Rayo Sankey García, Mtra. Eloísa Cruz De La Serna, Mtro. Guillermo Carrera García, Mtro. Fernando Báez Lira, Lic. Gabriela Hernández Rodríguez, Lic. Alan Raúl Vergara Vallejo, Lic. Miguel Ángel Villegas Hidalgo.
Directly from BSPU posters for the Symposium were prepared by Victoria Konstantinova (“Historical memory and historical images: the project “The Black Sea and its port-cities, 1774 to 1914. Development, convergence and linkages with the global economy”, in collaboration with Gelina Harlaftis, Ionian University, Greece), Iuliia Korolevska and Alina Popova (“The World War II in memory of the soldier (based on the personal correspondence)”). Arseniy Holyk, a graduate student of the department of the history of Ukraine, became a co-author of the official poster of the 3rd SIMEM.
