From the director:
Conception of museum of history of BSPU
The preparation and publication of the five-volume archeographical edition «Materials from the history of Berdyansk State Pedagogical University» by I. Lyman and V. Konstantinova preceded the formation of the museum. The process of preparation started in 2002, the first volume of the series was released in 2006.
The exhibition includes main events of the history of university:
1. Berdyansk boy’s gymnasium.
2. Berdyansk pedagogical courses, Berdyansk Teachers College
3. Berdyansk State Institute of Social Education, Pedagogical Institute, State Teachers Institute.
4. State Pedagogical Institute.
5. Berdyansk State Pedagogical University.
The 8 last stands of the exhibition are dedicated to the institutes and faculties of the present Berdyansk State Pedagogical University.
The Museum is an educational, research museum. The aim of the activity of the museum is not only popularization, but also the continuation of research of the history of BSPU attracting students and Ph.D-researchers.
The Museum is a part of the Research Institute of Urban History, because it’s the museum of the history of education in an urban space.
