History Fest of the Project "What is your history?"
On September 17, at the City Day, a History Fest was held in Berdyansk, organized by the project "What is your history?" together with the Research Institute of Urban History, NGO "Urban Initiatives", the Faculty of Humanities and Economics, the Department of History and Philosophy of Berdyansk State Pedagogical University.
Within the framework of the festival, more than fifteen various events were held at 5 locations.
The public lecture "Urban History of Berdyansk: a View From the Sea" was delivered by Professor Igor Lyman on a pleasure ship cruising the Berdyansk Bay.
Open air, in the courtyard of the main building of BSPU Igor Lyman gave a public lecture "Women on the Move: the Berdyansk Context", and Doctor of Historical Sciences Viktor Brekhunenko gave a public lecture "Myths and Reality of Urban Space".
In the street cinema, arranged in Schmidt Park, after the demonstration of the speech of Vladislav Berkovsky, director of the Central State CinePhotoPhono Archives of Ukraine named after H. Pshenychnyi "The Virtual Image of the City" unique newsreels of Berdyansk of the XX century, specially digitized for the project "What is your history?" were shown.
Together with NGO "Spilno HUB" and the Berdyansk cycling club, the event "Bicycle in Berdyansk: past and present" was held, in which the local project coordinator Professor Victoria Konstantinova took part. There was a free bike rental for the participants of the History Fest.
Interventions "Historical map of Berdyansk" and "Berdyansk, what are you?" were organized by Karina Fursa.
On the basis of historical materials from Berdyansk, Aleksandrovsk (Zaporizhzhya) and Melitopol, the project specially created the game “Monopoly. Old city". Irina Belaya and Natalya Lobach offered this game to the participants of the Fest.
In addition to the game, Irina Belaya conducted a geocaching quest "What is your history?", and Natalya Lobach – workshops "Collage "Create your own Berdyansk" and "I am the best guide".
Exclusive prizes with the logo of the project "What is your history?" were raffled off among the participants of the Fest.
Students historians Vladislava Protsenko and Alina Nesterenko conducted four excursions to the BSPU History Museum. In parallel, a presentation of books on the history of Berdyansk by the Research Institute of Urban History was demonstrated.
Throughout the Fest an exhibition of stands with historical photographs of Berdyansk and its residents, family stories of townspeople took place.
