Six years ago, participating in the gender seminar "Por Una Cultura de Paz: Cómo Suprimir la Violencia Contra las Mujeres" (Puebla, Mexico, November 29-30, 2012), professor of Berdyansk State Pedagogical University, a member of the newly created Research Institute of Urban History Igor Lyman got acquainted with the Argentinean scholar and activist Marta Michalec.
In 2018, having the status of President of VI Encuentro Latinoamericano de Mujeres Universitarias “De Niña a Mujer” (Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina), Marta Michalec made a proposal to prepare a report on a Ukrainian subject. Therefore, Igor Lyman and Iuliia Korolevska prepared “La participación de las mujeres en la operación antiterrorista en el oriente de Ucrania (2014-2018)” (“Participation of women in the antiterrorist operation in the Eastern Ukraine (2014-2018 years)”). The former student of BSPU, now – a post-graduate student of Benemerita Universidad Autonoma de Puebla (Mexico) Iryna Konovalenko helped with the Spanish translation.
Recently the organizers sent from Argentina to Berdyansk the certificates of participation and the author’s picture of the Argentine artist Lilian Hussonmorel. Many thanks for this!
We recall that now the Research Institute of Urban History together with Instituto de Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades “Alfonso Vélez Pliego” (Dr. Victoria Pérez) of Benemerita Universidad Autonoma de Puebla (Mexico) are preparing another gender forum – The Seventh International Multidisciplinary Symposium of Memory Studies: “Gender and (dis)memory” (Puebla, Mexico, October 18-19, 2018).
