At the beginning of 2015 the Research Institute of Urban History published a book of Igor Lyman and Sofia Podkolzina “The Spread of Imperial Practices of Relations Between State and Church: Religious Life of Berdyansk of the First Decade of Its Existence”, devoted to Church history of Berdyansk of 1827-1837.
The general trends in relations between the State and the Church of this period are analyzed. The problems of the church building and the relationship of the Orthodox clergy with the secular authorities and parishioners of Berdyansk in the context of inclusion of the new town in the orbit of the imperial church policy are investigated.
