Preparation of experts on quality assurance of higher education: training in Berdyansk

On March 27, 2019 at Berdyansk State Pedagogical University was conducted the training for the preparation of experts on quality assurance of higher education. The trainer – Professor, Igor Lyman.

The training program consisted of four sessions:

Session 1. Theoretical and normative basis of the quality assurance of higher education. ESG and Ukraine
• Modern understanding of the quality assurance of higher education: a national quality assurance system in accordance with the principles of the European Higher Education Area;
• Compliance of existing practices in Ukraine with the requirements of ESG-2015.

Session 2. The experience of the QUAERE project, other international projects. The internal quality assurance system in Ukraine education. The typical model

• The quality assurance system in Ukraine based on European standards and recommendations (QUAERE); Czech and Polish experience in the quality assurance of higher education ("Innovation University and Leadership");
• Expert report of the international expert commission on the assessment of the education quality in the specialty 032 "History and Archeology" for bachelors and masters (QUAERE, BSPU);
• The internal quality assurance system in Ukrainian higher educational institutions. The typical model.

Session 3. The internal quality assurance system: monitoring of educational programs and analysis of curricula (O.I. Hurenko O.V. Shubina)
• Monitoring of educational programs;
• Analysis of curricula.

Session 4. System of external quality assurance. The assurance system of the academic integrity principles
• The external quality assurance system;
• The assurance system of the academic integrity: goals, objectives, functions, structure and its maintenance during accreditation examination.

The training took place within the framework of the projects "Formation of a Network of Experts on the Quality Assurance of Higher Education" (partners: Center for Studies in Higher Education (Czech Republic), Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine) and "A new system of accreditation as a means of ensuring quality and overcoming corruption in higher education" (International Renaissance Foundation, Charitable Foundation "Institute for the Development of Education").

The participants of the training received the corresponding certificates. The next, optional stage for the participants of the training may be the on-line testing on the site of the Institute of Higher Education of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences.
